C – Chocolate mint is like a weed for us here at the Be Mindful. Be Human. Kitchen.
I don’t know what to do with the stuff. It grows and grows. We make mint ice cream with it. Not much else. We’ve had to throw the clippings away a few times because they grow so quickly. I’ve tried asking my friend the Internet, but it comes up with searches for mint chocolate stuff. It’s not the same thing.
If you’ve never had chocolate mint before or even seen it, it is a mint leaf that is brown on the edges and green in the center. It’s minty with a slight hint of chocolate. It sounds good. But, you really can’t use it in savory dishes … I don’t think.
It’s definitely not like peppermint or spearmint. It has its own characteristics that make it hard to use. It has a slight chocolate flavor. But, it’s not too strong in mint flavor either. It’s good with milk. I just don’t like the idea of drinking minty milk much. So, I thought why not put it in water and see what happens.
Strawberries and chocolate works well together as do strawberries and mint. Why not combine them all. It worked. I added lemon to it to make the water look pretty. The outcome was a refreshing glass of water. I really couldn’t taste the chocolate part of the mint. It’s more of just strawberries mint and lemon.

- Serve over ice.
- Enjoy!
I guess the chocolate flavor is so minimal that it doesn’t shine. I think if I didn’t add the lemon the chocolate flavor would shine more.
I am still not sure what else to do with chocolate mint. If you have any suggestions for us to try, please let us know.
