Tea Week 2015: Jasmine Tea Infused Quinoa Breakfast

C – I love quinoa …

But, there’s one thing that I miss about eating white rice that quinoa doesn’t have. Quinoa is missing a good smell. I grew up on jasmine white rice and love it. These days, white rice is a no-no. My favorite thing about the rice was the smell.

I love the smell of fresh steamed Jasmine wafting through the air. It’s amazing and it always makes me hungry.

Quinoa has a unique smell … just not as appealing. I needed to figure out how to infuse the quinoa with Jasmine.

I really didn’t like the idea of putting Jasmine flowers into my quinoa. I also didn’t know where to get Jasmine flowers.

The only thing I had in the house that was edible and had Jasmine in it was my Jasmine tea.

I gave it a shot and it worked. The Jasmine aroma filled the kitchen. Oh my goodness, it smelled so good.

Interestingly, there isn’t much of a difference in taste to the quinoa. I am glad that there wasn’t too much of a change. I wouldn’t want my breakfast quinoa tasting like flowers. This was perfect.
